Position Overview
As Kitchen Manager, you’ll be responsible for the full scope of back-of-house operations at the Harpoon Taproom in Windsor. You’ll work closely with FOH leadership to deliver high-quality food, ensure smooth service, and cultivate a kitchen culture rooted in respect, consistency, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Culinary Leadership & Team Management

Hire, train, and lead a high-performing kitchen team aligned with Harpoon’s food and hospitality standards

Plan and execute seasonal, beer-friendly menus that reflect our local roots and guest preferences

Build a team culture centered on collaboration, learning, and pride in the craft

Support onboarding and development for all kitchen staff
Operations & Financial Oversight

Manage food cost, inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships

Build and adjust labor schedules to meet operational and financial goals

Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health standards
-
Control prep volume, minimize waste, and maintain consistency
Guest Experience & Brand Integration

Work closely with FOH leadership to ensure seamless kitchen-to-table execution

Contribute to beer-pairing events, private functions, and on-site activations

Champion the Harpoon brand through thoughtful food presentation and a focus on quality
What We’re Looking For
-
2+ years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume or scratch-cooking setting

Solid culinary skills with a passion for working with seasonal, local ingredients
-
Strong financial and operational acumen—food cost, labor management, inventory
-
Leadership and communication skills that build trust and encourage growth
-
ServSafe certified (or willing to obtain certification)
-
A love of beer and hospitality—experience with beer and food pairing is a big plus
